Access Statement For March Cottage B&B.

 

Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of our visitors in our home based two roomed bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

 

Pre-Arrival
There is a bus stop at the top of the road about a 200m walk. There is a frequent service from all major towns.
The main train station is 5 minutes away by car 12 on foot.
There is a local taxi service that has accessible taxis if required; we can make a booking for you.
We have a website with photographs of each guest room; both are on the ground floor.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is ample free car parking on the wide road alongside the premises.
There is a dropped kerb.
The drive is level and flat all the way to the rooms.
The route to guest rooms is well lit at night.
Assistance with luggage is always offered to all guests.
The town is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Bed and Breakfast.

 

Main Entrance & Reception
Guests are escorted to rooms and facilities explained.
The front door has one step 10cm high.

The front door is always locked but we do have a bell under the door canopy.
The door is 81cm wide but guest rooms are not accessed through this door.
Outside lights are on when it is dark.

 

Public Areas - General (Internal)
The breakfast room is on the ground floor.
The door to the breakfast room is 74cm. Wider access is available.
The floor is laminate.

 

 

Dining Room.
Breakfast is served in the dining room on the ground floor. There is one step at a height of 25cms.
The door is 74cms wide, alternative access is available if necessary.
Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
Tables have an under space of 68cms high. There are chairs without arms which can be moved to accommodate.
Menus can be provided in large print by prior arrangement.
We do not play background music in any area of the B&B
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and all other diets catered for with prior notice.
Our bed and breakfast is no smoking throughout the premises.

 

Bedrooms
There are 2 bedrooms, both on the ground floor with secure lockable doors.
The Double Bedded Garden Room.
Door width main 70cms, internal 76cms.
Step into room is 18cms.
At least 85cm route between bed and wall with 167cms X 177cms free space between the end of bed and table.
Furniture is moveable on request.
The bed is 55cm high.
Television with remote control and teletext.
There is an ensuite shower room (see below for details)
Fitted short pile carpet on the floor with a rug at the end of the bed.
One armchair is provided in the room.
Dressing table is 73cms high.
Good contrast in decor.

 

The Twin Room.
Door widths, main 75cms and internal 73cms.
Steps into room 9cms and 22cms.
Furniture is moveable on request.
Each bed is 50cm high with a gap of 45cms between them.
Television with remote control and teletext.
There is an ensuite shower room (see below for details)
Fitted short pile carpet on the floor.

 

Additional Information
Mobile phone reception is generally good
Items can be placed in our main fridge on request (not available 24hours).
